Welcome to Daily Wayfinder. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Daily Wayfinder website and app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Daily Wayfinder is operated by Niklas Wibelius, based in Gothenburg, Sweden (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “Daily Wayfinder”). You can reach us at dailywayfinder@gmail.com.
Daily Wayfinder is a private journaling app with a Christian orientation. You write your reflections, and the Service uses artificial intelligence to generate a Bible passage, a written prayer, and a short pastoral reflection in response. It is a tool for personal devotion and self-reflection.
Daily Wayfinder is not a church, not a counsellor, not a medical or mental-health provider, and not a crisis service. The reflections it produces are not pastoral counsel, doctrinal authority, therapy, or medical advice. See Section 6 for more on this.
To use the Service you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials secure, and to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account on your own. If you are between 13 and 16, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. The Service is not intended for children under 13.
The core journaling experience is currently free of charge. We intend to keep the core experience free for as long as we can.
We may, in the future, offer optional paid features or accept voluntary donations. If we ever introduce paid features, they will be optional additions, not paywalls placed in front of functionality you already use today. If you choose to subscribe or donate, separate billing terms presented at checkout will apply, and payments will be processed by Stripe.
We may change pricing, free quotas, or feature availability at any time. We will give reasonable notice for changes that affect you materially.
You agree not to use the Service to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, especially where doing so is needed to keep the Service safe for everyone else.
You own what you write. Your journal entries belong to you, and we do not claim any ownership over them.
To run the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and process your entries — including sending them to our AI sub-processor — for the sole purpose of operating Daily Wayfinder for you. This licence ends when you delete the entry or your account, except for backups that age out as described in our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your entries, we do not use them to train public AI models, and we do not share them with advertisers.
You are responsible for keeping your own copy of anything you consider essential. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, you should not rely on the Service as your only archive.
The Bible passages, prayers, and reflections you receive are generated by an AI model based on the entry you write. The output is not a statement from a pastor, theologian, or medical professional. It can be:
Daily Wayfinder is not a substitute for a trusted pastor or spiritual director, professional counselling or therapy, medical care, or emergency services.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please contact local emergency services immediately, or call a crisis line in your country. Do not rely on Daily Wayfinder for help in an emergency.
You use AI responses at your own discretion and your own risk. Always test, verify, and weigh them against Scripture and trusted counsel before acting on them.
We work hard to keep the Service running, but we offer it on an as-is, best-effort basis. We do not promise any specific uptime, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, sub-processor outages, or reasons beyond our control.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also discontinue the Service entirely. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your journal entries before data is deleted.
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you do, your entries will be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use of the Service puts other users or our providers at risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practical, we will let you know before doing so.
Apart from your own entries, the Service — including the software, design, text, graphics, prompts, brand, and logo — is owned by Daily Wayfinder or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial spiritual reflection while you have an account in good standing.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the AI output will be accurate, fitting, or free of theological or factual mistakes. Any implied warranties are disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including under Swedish or EU consumer protection rules.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Daily Wayfinder, its founder, its contractors, and its sub-processors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, spiritual outcomes, mental or emotional harm, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total cumulative liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us during that period, or (b) EUR 50.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or harm to life or bodily integrity.
To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party as a result of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service — for example, by uploading content you had no right to share.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date and, where the change affects you meaningfully, notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you continue to use the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you can close your account.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be brought before the competent courts of Sweden, with the District Court of Gothenburg (Göteborgs tingsrätt) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring the case elsewhere.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
